Helvetia Insurance is an Europe-wide Swiss insurance company in the field of life insurance, non-life and reinsurance business. BSD Projects: - Strategy and Management: BSD Consulting conducted for Helvetia Insurance in Switzerland a Corporate Responsibility (CR) assessment. Result of the assessment is a comprehensive final report, in which both the CR performance as well as the data base on CR topics based on the grid of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) were evaluated. On this basis concrete recommendations for action were developed. Due to this assessment of the "status quo" Helvetia knows the GRI-based perspective on their own CR performance and can now better assess the quality of the data base which is required for reporting. - Communications: BSD supported the creation of Helvetia Insurance’s Corporate Responsibility Report for 2013, 2014 and 2015. The report has been compiled in accordance with the GRI G4 “Core”-Option. It has been published in an online- and a PDF-version and is complemented by a GRI Content Index with additional data. BSD Consulting supported Helvetia with the further development of an internal guideline for sustainable procurement. Helvetia’s purchased goods worth approx. CHF 18 million (2014) only account for a small portion of the overall business volume. Nevertheless, Helvetia seeks to consider ecological, social and governance issues in their purchasing practices. Therefore, an internal guideline defining critical requirements and criteria for the procurement of goods and services was developed.
