Textile Exchanges Launches Industry Reports and Call to Action for SDGs
Textile Exchange launched its Organic Cotton Market Report as well as the Preferred Fibre and Materials Report during their annual conference which was held near Washington DC this year during the week of October 9-13, 2017. Textile Exchange invited companies to participate in their Call to Action for SDGs, the focus of this year´s conference.
The new Organic Cotton Market Report and Preferred Fibre and Materials Report were launched by Textile Exchange during their annual conference which was held in Washington DC this year. Both reports are an important source of information for the textile industry. The annually published reports show the market developments and the increasing importance of sustainability in the fiber and materials markets for the textile industry.
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Textile Exchange, a new “Insider Series” was launched by Textile Exchange as well. It presents insider stories from a diverse mix of people actively driving sustainability in the textile industry.
This year`s conference focus and call to action “United by Action: Catalyzing the Sustainable Development Goals in Textiles” highlighted the great potential and also responsibility of the textile industry to support the SDGs and asks companies to integrate the SDGs in their sustainability strategies.
BSD Consulting is part of a three year project supported by the C&A Foundation which aims to improve the data collection, analysis and reporting system of Textile Exchange to adequately handle the increasing amount of organic cotton data.
We also supported Textile Exchange in the development of their Preferred Fibre and Materials Report 2017.
During the TE Conference in Washington, Felipe Arango from BSD Consulting facilitated a session on SDGs.
