FAIR SHARE living wages project

FAIR SHARE living wages project (2016)

November 2015 - March 2016

Continental Clothing's aim of the FAIR SHARE project was to implement living wages for a collection of 150.000 t-shirts and hoodies. Continental Clothing Co. in collaboration with BSD Consulting has implemented a scheme that aims to deliver a Living Wage for the garment workers in its supply chain. BSD supported Continental Clothing through the whole project, including particularly the research regarding the local conditions and wages, determining the steps of calculating the local living wage for Tirupur, setting up worker interviews, organizing a workshop in the factory, defining ways of payment, marketing of the final products. The costs for each T-Shirt are only 0.14 Euro per T-Shirt. After 1.1.2016 the monthly salary was increased by 650 INR per month.
