SIG Supplier Assessment Support

SIG Supplier Assessment Support

August 2017 - December 2017
Description

SIG is one of the world’s leading solution providers for the food and beverage industry within the field of carton packs and filling technology. SIG developed its comprehensive sustainability strategy “Way Beyond Good” with the goal to become NETpositive according to the criteria of the NETpositive initiative. SIG defined sustainability requirements for their suppliers in the Business Ethics Code (BEC). Compliance with the BEC is assessed based on independent sustainable supply chain initiatives. BSD supported SIG in implementing the sustainable supply chain management by developing a supplier assessment process and subsequently assessing all suppliers of key materials. With BSD’s support, SIG gained an overview of how its suppliers implement sustainability and how they comply with the requirements of the Business Ethics Code. This baseline enables SIG to include its suppliers on the "Way Beyond Good" and develop them in a targeted manner.
