Supporting the Implementation of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) Monitoring Process
Case Study

Migros has a long history as a socially responsible company − its implementation of food safety, environmental and social standards in procurement started 20 years ago. Since then, consumers’ awareness of environmental and social conditions in global supply chains has been steadily increasing. Therefore, Migros became a BSCI member to ensure that minimum environmental and social standards are met along the entire global supply chains.
BSD Consulting delivers services to support the implementation of the BSCI monitoring process among Migros’ suppliers and their production facilities. The core activities conducted are the collection and evaluation of self-assessments of suppliers and subcontractors and following-up on the implementation of corrective actions in areas where non-compliances were identified during audits, including technical consulting during the improvement process, as defined in the corrective action plans.
BSD Consulting offers these services in Asia through its offices in China and partners in India and Bangladesh; in Latin America through its offices in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador; and in Europe through its offices in Portugal, Spain, and partners in Eastern Europe and Turkey.
