Volunteer Program Benchmarking for Aptar Group

Volunteer Program Benchmarking for Aptar Group

August 2016 - December 2016
Description

Aptar Group is a global manufacturer of dispensing systems. The company’s employees voluntarily participate in community engagement initiatives around the world in diverse ways (e.g. volunteering, fund raising) and address many community needs (food banks, youth and children’s issues etc.). Aptar Group would like to better understand the role and implementation of Employee Volunteer Programs (EVP) in an organization in order to understand what customers and competitors are doing, what is relevant for internal stakeholders (e.g. board of directors) and how volunteering programs are or should be positioned (e.g. philanthropy or strategic structuring using systems for tracking and measuring employee engagement). BSD Consulting designed and conducted research to benchmark EVPs by conducting an assessment of EVPs that included structure (types of volunteer practices, issue focus areas), measurement (metrics, systems and tools, industry best practices), incentivization and strategic integration into an organization. The EVPs of a selected set of Aptar Group's customers and competitors were analyzed and the results were presented in a report along with recommendations and a roadmap for implementation of an EVP for Aptar Group.
